Chimney Swift

Director: Frédéric Schuld

Anima-Dok | Germany 2020 | 05:00 min

Synopsis:

A chimney sweep describes his daily routine and the compulsion to make workers out of children. As we watch a child cleaning a chimney, the master's statement becomes more personal with each sentence until we understand that he is talking about his own past. Caught in a vicious circle, there seems to be no way out.

Ein Ozean

Director: Paul Scheufler

Dokumentary | Germany 2021 | 18:50 min

The images come without warning. First a tingling in the neck, then the trembling spreads through Markus' whole body. The abuse happened over 45 years ago, but only now can Markus put it into words. With his camper van, the 55-year-old always keeps moving, just to avoid thinking too long. A daily struggle for survival between the past and the horizon of the ocean.

Night Upon Kepler 452b

Director: Ben Voit

Dokumentary | Germany 2019 | 14:05 min

Synopsis:

A German film student travels to New Zealand to authentically capture Maori culture. Europeans and New Zealanders he meets all have an opinion about the indigenous people and their relationship with "Pakeha" - the "white" population of New Zealand. "We take good care of the Maori", say the whites, while many Maori are homeless or build roads for the whites.
