Synopsis:

All-rounder Milorad Krstićs' animated crime thriller adventure RUBEN BRANDT is a turbulent pop collage of the styles and currents of the last century. PICASSO's Cubism, FREUD's psychoanalysis and blockbusters like TERMINATOR, PULP FICTION and RAMBO are just as much a topic as WARHOL's double Elvis and BOTTICELLI's Venus, who becomes a murderous mermaid. Suspense maestro HITCHCOCK should of course not be missing, as the psychotherapist Ruben Brandt is haunted in his nightmares by the figures of the famous works of art. Art is the key to Rubens' mental confusions and so begins a spectacular series of art theft.

It's exciting and turbulent around the world, in the Louvre, the Uffizi, the Hermitage, New York or Tokyo. The "art collectors" get on with virtuosity everywhere, chased by bounty hunters and private detectives. Humorous, surreal and audiovisually breathtaking, the masterpiece is considered one of the best animated films in Europe and also has an impressive soundtrack to offer: with music by MOZART, SCHUBERT, TSCHAIKOWSKI, PUCCINI as well as BRITNEY SPEARS and RADIOHEAD.

The Hungarian artist Milorad Krstić delivered his first feature film at the age of almost 60, after winning the Silver Bear at the Berlinale in 1995 for his animated short film "My Baby Left Me".
